Abstract: Disclosed is a pediatric imaging immobilization and comfort system comprising a radiolucent support frame defining a patient-receiving region, a deformable vacuum cushion supported over the radiolucent support frame, a foam padding layer disposed on a patient-facing side of the vacuum cushion, a padded head support, opposed side stabilizers, and adjustable chest and limb straps. The vacuum cushion comprises a flexible air-impervious envelope containing flowable granulated material and an evacuation port. Evacuation of air from the envelope causes the vacuum cushion to retain a body-contoured semi-rigid configuration around a pediatric patient positioned on the foam padding layer. The padded head support and opposed side stabilizers restrict cervical rotation and lateral displacement, while the adjustable chest and limb straps retain the pediatric patient against the contoured vacuum cushion during medical imaging.
