Abstract: The present invention relates to a pacifier-integrated salivary pH monitoring device (100) for passive and non-invasive monitoring of salivary pH in infants during routine pacifier use. The device (100) comprises a shield (104), a teat/nipple (108) coupled to the shield (104), a capillary tube (110) embedded within the teat/nipple (108), a hydrogel pH sensor (102) supported by the shield (104), and a pH indicator guide (106) positioned adjacent to the hydrogel pH sensor (102). During sucking, saliva contacts the teat/nipple (108) and is passively transported through the capillary tube (110) to the hydrogel pH sensor (102) by capillary action. The hydrogel pH sensor (102) produces a visible colour change corresponding to salivary pH, enabling visual interpretation without electronics, batteries, pumps, or active saliva withdrawal.
