MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631081649 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Patna on July 02, 2026, for Oxygen-Enhanced Bioaugmented Biomineralized Composite And Process Thereof.
Inventors include Naskar, Joyprakash; and Sharma, Anil Kumar.
The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses an oxygen-enhanced, bioaugmented, biomineralized composite material for converting an anaerobic environment to an aerobic environment. In particular, the present invention relates to an oxygen-enhanced bioaugmented biomineralized composite material for transforming industrial by-product coal ash into a high-performance geomaterial suitable for waste stabilization, ground improvement, and sustainable civil engineering applications. The invention further relates to a microbial-induced biomineralization process using said composite that ensures a consistent supply of dissolved oxygen in the medium, thereby maintaining bacterial metabolic activity and helping in biobinding of coal ash. The invention provides a sustainable and scalable solution for ground improvement, waste valorization, and eco-friendly construction materials.
