Abstract: The present invention provides a pharmaceutical composition in which perfluorocarbon is formulated in the form of a nanoemulsion using casein or a salt thereof, and a preparation method therefor. In the pharmaceutical composition of the present invention, perfluorocarbon may be present in the form of stable liquid particles in the nanoemulsion. Therefore, the pharmaceutical composition of the present invention can avoid side effects such as thrombus formation or vascular occlusion, and thus can be useful as an artificial oxygen carrier, i.e., a blood substitute.
