MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621063969 A) filed by Deepali Ravindra Surti on May 20, 2026, for Osseo-Locking Bioactive Miniplate System For Enhanced Maxillofacial Fracture Fixation.
Inventors include Dr. Mayur Gawande; and Dr. Deepali Surti.
The application for the patent was published on July 17, 2026, under issue no. 29/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to an osseo-locking bioactive miniplate system for fracture fixation. The invention comprises a fixation plate body incorporating threaded bone-engaging collars integrated around fixation holes for enhanced cortical engagement and osseointegration. The system may further comprise elastic lattice regions, porous structures, bioactive coatings, locking screws. The invention improves primary stability, reduces screw loosening, enhances stress distribution, promotes biologic healing, and reduces complications associated with conventional fixation systems. The invention is particularly applicable in maxillofacial and orthopedic fracture fixation.
