MUMBAI, India, Aug. 12 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617039871 A) filed by The Governing Council Of The University Of Toronto on March 30, 2026, for Oscillometry System And Machine Learning Based Method Of Classifying Oscillometry Results.

Inventors include Chow, Chung-Wai; Valaee, Shahrokh; Keshavarzian, Alireza; and Tisi, Michael.

The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.

Abstract: Methods and devices for identifying a pulmonary function pattern for a subject. A time series of measurements is obtained using an oscillometer. The time series of measurements are processed using a trained machine learning model, which may include inputting the time series of measurements to a filter bank to produce a feature vector composed of a set of proportion of positive values, and inputting the feature vector to a classifier to select one of a plurality of lung function patterns for the feature vector. A classification decision is then based on the selected lung function pattern.
