MUMBAI, India, July 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411096696 A) filed by International Centre For Genetic Engineering And on December 06, 2024, for Oryza Sativa Cv Ir64 Expressed With Mutated Dhdps (mosdhdps) Having Enhanced Lysine Content And Total Protein.

Abstract: In one embodiment, the present invention relates to a mutated dihydrodipicolinate synthase (mDHDPS) for expressing in Oryza sativa cv IR64 to enhance its lysine and total protein contents; wherein native DHDPS of the Oryza sativa cv IR64 (nOsDHDPS) has mutation at the combination of three amino acids consisting of: Serine 157, Glutamate 162, and Alanine 166 of the sequence listing (figure 2(C1)) comprising: Serine 157 with Asparagine; Glutamate 162 with lysine; and Alanine 166 with Threonine of said sequence listing. In another embodiment, the present invention relates to Oryza sativa cv IR64 expressed with mutated dihydrodipicolinate synthase identified as “mOsDHDPS” of the present invention, wherein the sequence listing is as illustrated in figure 2(C2); and the Nucleotide Sequence Listing of Oryza sativa cv IR64 expressed with mutated DHDPS (“mOsDHDPS”) is as illustrated in accompanying Figure 8(A).
