Abstract: ORTHOTIC DEVICE WITH VARIABLE LOAD TRANSFER THROUGH THE KNEE The present invention provides a knee off-loading orthotic device (100) comprises of a hip mounting section (200), plurality of shock absorber section (300) at thigh region, plurality of load adjusting section (400) at calf region and plurality of foot and ankle section (500). The orthotic device (100) assists in shock absorption through the respective leg using a sliding movement of the plate (306) governed by a four-bar mechanism formed with plurality of curved links (310) and a tension spring (312) and assists in variable load adjustment through the affected knee using a motion of the plate (406) governed by the mechanism formed with plurality of curved links (408) and a ratchet mechanism (410).
