Abstract: The present disclosure provides an orthodontic retraction device (100) and a method (200) of fabricating the orthodontic retraction device (100). The device (100) includes an orthodontic archwire segment (102), a reverse vertical closing loop (106) formed integrally along the archwire segment (102) in an isosceles triangular configuration with a base portion (106a) occlusal, an apex portion (106b) gingival, and two substantially equal-length arms (106c, 106d), and an activation hook (108) distal to the loop (106). A tension of a ligature wire (110) between the activation hook (108) and a posterior anchorage unit (112) closes the loop (106). Unlike conventional retraction mechanisms that depend on a distal cinching-back and undergo a stress reversal across activation cycles, the device (100) generates a tensile stress-dominant pattern for a consistent force, applicable to a canine retraction and an en-masse anterior retraction.
