MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641100127 A) filed by Karpagam College Of Engineering; Karpagam Academy Of Higher Education; Dr. Kannimuthu S; and Abinaya S on August 19, 2026, for Organ Donation And Transplant Matching System Using Machine Learning.

Inventors include Dr. Kannimuthu S; and Abinaya S.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: This project enhances the organ donor–recipient matching process by applying machine learning techniques to achieve faster and more accurate compatibility predictions. Traditional matching systems depend heavily on manual medical evaluation and rule-based scoring, which can lead to delays and less reliable decisions. To improve this, the proposed system analyzes essential medical and biometric factors such as blood group, HLA typing, organ health condition, age differences, and clinical history. The platform is developed using React for the user interface, providing a clean and interactive experience for hospitals and transplant coordinators. The backend is built with Spring Boot, ensuring secure processing of medical data, while MongoDB handles flexible and efficient data storage. For the machine learning component, models such as Naive Bayes, Random Forest, Support Vector Machine (SVM), Neural Network, and Logistic Regression are used to calculate compatibility scores and predict match probability. These algorithms help capture both simple and complex relationships within medical data, improving decision accuracy. By combining optimized preprocessing and multi-feature analysis, the system delivers highly reliable donor–recipient compatibility predictions. Overall, this ML-driven platform integrates smoothly into hospital workflows, reduces waiting time, and significantly increases transplant success rates.
