MUMBAI, India, July 24 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641078386 A) filed by Sri Manakula Vinayagar Engineering College on June 25, 2026, for Optimising Regenerative Suspension Kit For Conventional And Electric Vehicle Performance.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a regenerative suspension system that captures kinetic energy from road vibrations and converts it into usable electricity. The system incorporates a permanent magnet array (1) that moves linearly relative to a stationary slotted stator (2) wound with a copper coil (3). This relative motion induces an alternating current during vehicle travel. A generator housing (5) protects the internal 10 components, while a coil spring (4) and a mounting bracket (6) provide mechanical support. The generated alternating current is processed into stable direct current using a rectifier circuit (7), a voltage regulator (8), and a direct current converter (9). A charge controller (10) ultimately regulates the conditioned electrical power to safely charge an onboard battery (11), thereby improving vehicle efficiency.
