MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611067446 A) filed by Indraprastha Institute Of Information Technology Delhi on May 29, 2026, for Optical Intelligent Reflecting Surface Actuation Apparatus And Method Thereof.

Inventors include Ankit Kumar Pal; Rahul; Anish Bera; and Prof. Vivek Ashok Bohara.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed herein is an optical intelligent reflecting surface actuation apparatus and method thereof that comprises a mirror top plate (102), a plurality of ball and socket joints (104), a plurality of racks (106), an upper actuation base (108), a lower actuation base (110), a plurality of pinions (112), and a plurality of servo motors (114). The plurality of ball and socket joints (104) mechanically connects the mirror top plate (102) with the plurality of racks (106). The plurality of racks (106) extends through the upper actuation base (108) and engages the plurality of pinions (112). The plurality of servo motors (114) drives the plurality of pinions (112). The lower actuation base (110) supports translational movement of the upper actuation base (108), thereby enabling coordinated angular positioning and vertical displacement of the mirror top plate (102) for adaptive optical beam steering and optical signal reflection.
