The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: Disclosed is an opposed-emission X-ray tube system for heel-effect reduction. The system comprises a vacuum-sealed housing defining an evacuated chamber and comprising a beam output window. A first cathode and a first anode are positioned within the evacuated chamber along a first electron path to generate a first X-ray emission profile. A second cathode and a second anode are positioned within the evacuated chamber along a second electron path opposed to the first electron path to generate a second X-ray emission profile complementary to the first X-ray emission profile. A high-voltage interface is operatively connected to the cathodes and anodes. A synchronization controller coordinates activation of the first and second electron paths so that the first and second X- ray emission profiles are combined through the beam output window to reduce intensity variation across an exposure field.
