The application for the patent was published on August 07, 2026, under issue no. 32/2026.
Abstract: The present disclosure provides a method for on-board interference cancellation in a satellite communication system. The method comprises receiving, at a satellite, intended data along with interference through a main antenna during a ground pass, receiving interference through a dedicated interference cancellation antenna simultaneously with the main antenna, storing data from the interference cancellation antenna on-board temporarily until successful decoding of the intended signal is observed, upon detecting a decoding failure, storing samples from the main antenna on an on-board device for interference mitigation, evaluating a real-time link budget to estimate a level of interference in the received signal, upon determining that the link margin indicates a good channel condition, processing the stored samples using an interference cancellation engine to cancel interference from the received signal, and re-decoding the data with interference cancellation applied.
