MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641077810 A) filed by New Horizon College Of Engineering on June 24, 2026, for Offline Phishing Detection System Using Static Behavioral Simulation And Probabilistic Attack Graph.

Inventors include C R Rathish; Tarun G; and Thrisha B.

The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for detecting phishing links in the field of Cybersecurity, utilizing offline static analysis and techniques derived from Machine Learning. The invention is designed to identify malicious uniform resource locators (URLs) without executing, rendering, or accessing the target resource, thereby ensuring enhanced security and preventing exposure to potentially 10 harmful content. The system analyzes structural and lexical features of a URL, including domain patterns, token sequences, and keyword indicators, to infer malicious intent. A behavioral simulation mechanism is employed to predict possible actions associated with the URL, such as redirection, authentication requests, credential capture, and data submission. Based on these predicted behaviors, a 15 probabilistic multi-stage attack model is constructed to represent the sequential progression of a potential phishing attack, with each stage assigned a likelihood value. A risk scoring mechanism computes an overall risk value by aggregating feature- based indicators and predicted behavioral probabilities. The URL is subsequently classified into categories such as safe, suspicious, or phishing. The system further 20 provides explainable outputs, including predicted attack flow and reasoning behind the classification, while operating entirely offline, making it suitable for secure and resource-constrained environments.
