MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611078220 A) filed by Vishal Soni on June 25, 2026, for Offline Payment System With Payee-Originated Collect Request, Trusted-Set Relay, And Deferred Settlement.

Inventors include Advit Soni; Agam Soni; and Vishal Soni.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: Instant-payment rails require network connectivity at transaction time. This invention enables offline payment in connectivity-dead environments. A payee device originates, digitally signs, and broadcasts a collect request containing the payee payment identifier, transaction amount, request identifier, expiry, and payee public key. A payer device verifies the payee signature, registers the payee in an ephemeral payment trusted set, generates a digitally signed collect authorization, encrypts it to the payee public key, and broadcasts the ciphertext addressed to the trusted set. Intermediate relay devices carry the ciphertext without decrypting it and acquire no financial obligation. Either party submits the collect authorization upon obtaining connectivity; an idempotent nonce registry ensures exactly one pull-payment is initiated against the payer's payment account via a standard national pull-payment settlement rail, the applicable rail being selected server-side by payment-identifier format (UPI/SEPA/ACH/PIX/GIRO). No pre-reserved balance or proprietary digital wallet is required at any device.
