MUMBAI, India, Sept. 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202541133332 A) filed by Novus Composites Private Limited on December 30, 2025, for Novel Thermal Insulation Coating Compositions.

Inventors include Rajender Shanigarapu; and Ganesh Rao Junnoori.

The application for the patent was published on September 04, 2026, under issue no. 36/2026.

Abstract: This invention discloses a high-performance thermal insulation coating composition featuring hollow glass microspheres (HGMs) dispersed in poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA)- based liquid thermoplastic resin, compatibilized by isopropyltrioleyltitanate. Optional additives like thickeners, pigments and diluents enable customizable viscosity for varied applications. The cured film exhibits thermal conductivity 0.08 W/m·K, enhanced tensile strength, UV and water resistance. It can be applied in industrial, automotive and construction sectors, and the disclosed formulation may be an energy-efficient alternative to conventional systems for heat shielding purposes by virtue of its low density, flexibility, film-forming properties and curability at ambient temperatures or via UV irradiation.
