MUMBAI, India, June 26 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202411099333 A) filed by Schneider Electric India Private Limited on December 16, 2024, for Novel Resetting Mechanism For Thermal Magnetic And Electronic Release Of Mccb.
Inventors include Sawant, Karan Milind; and Oli, Vaibhav.
The application for the patent was published on June 19, 2026, under issue no. 25/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a molded case circuit breaker (MCCB) featuring a common actuator (11) for resetting both electronic and thermal-magnetic trip units. The actuator (11) includes a trip limb (25) for actuating a trip plate (12), a thermal-magnetic reset limb (26) for actuating a thermal-magnetic release lever (29), a resetting surface (24) actuated by a mechanism reset pin (10), an anti-toppler limb (27) to prevent toppling, and a guiding slot (22) for smooth sliding over a chassis (6). A mechanism fork (7) with a reset pin (10) and a flux shifting device (FSD) (15) with a plunger (17) and spring (18) are also included. The design simplifies the MCCB, reduces costs, and enhances reliability by minimizing components and ensuring efficient tripping and resetting operations. The actuator (11) ensures consistent performance and space efficiency, making the MCCB suitable for various applications. Figures 6 and 8
