The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.
Abstract: The invention relates to a method for enhancing phytoremediation of petroleum-contaminated soil using a combination of Impatiens balsamina L. and petroleum- degrading mixed microbes. The method involves inoculating petroleum-degrading microbes into contaminated soil, where they degrade petroleum hydrocarbons, and planting Impatiens balsamina L., which releases photosynthetic by-products into the soil to promote microbial activity. This symbiotic interaction creates a self- sustaining remediation cycle, where the plant and microbes mutually benefit, leading to more efficient and continuous degradation of petroleum contaminants. The process can be repeated to ensure long-term reduction of petroleum hydrocarbons in the soil until the contamination levels meet environmental safety standards, offering an effective and eco-friendly solution for soil remediation.
