MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202511020373 A) filed by Ipl Biologicals Limited on March 06, 2025, for Novel Formulation Of Bradyrhizobium Japonicum And Bradyrhizobium Subterraneum For Enhanced Productivity In Soybean Crop.
Inventors include Dr. Vimala Prakash; and Dr. Gaurav Sood.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT Novel formulation of Bradyrhizobium japonicum and Bradyrhizobium subterraneum for Enhanced Productivity in Soybean Crop The present invention relates to a novel synergistic microbial bioformulation for enhancing productivity of soybean crops. The formulation comprises bacterial consortia comprising viable cells of Bradyrhizobium japonicum and Bradyrhizobium subterraneum, formulated with suitable preservatives and excipients. The bioformulation is provided in liquid, lyophilized water-soluble powder, granular or suspension concentrate forms. The liquid formulation comprises 1 × 1010 to 5 × 1010 CFU/mL. The invention further discloses a process comprising optimized cultivation, submerged fermentation, cell concentration, preparation of a lyoprotectant mixture, controlled freeze-drying under specified temperature and vacuum conditions, milling, and standardization with carriers such as maltodextrin. The formulation exhibits extended shelf life under ambient storage conditions. Experimental evaluation demonstrates enhanced nodulation and increased soybean biomass and productivity compared to an uninoculated control. The bioformulation supports biological nitrogen fixation in soybean cultivation.
