Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel antituberculosis engineered protein and, more specifically, to an antituberculosis use of a human tryptophanyl-tRNA synthesis 1-based engineered protein comprising one or more amino acid mutations. The engineered protein according to the present invention has high thermal stability and has the effect of significantly inhibiting the growth of Mycobacterium tuberculosis. In addition, it has been experimentally identified that the engineered protein of the present invention promotes penetration of immune cells into tissue. The engineered protein of the present invention has excellent antituberculosis efficacy and immune enhancement efficacy, and thus can be variously utilized in the fields of tuberculosis treatment and immune enhancement.
