MUMBAI, India, Nov. 2 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621109361 A) filed by Suvarna Nandkishor Vakare on September 11, 2026, for Novel 1,2,4-Triazole Carbothioamide And Carboxamide Derivatives, Processes For Their Preparation, And Their Antiproliferative Activity.

Inventors include Rajesh Bhimgonda Patil; and Suvarna Nandkishor Vakare.

The application for the patent was published on October 30, 2026, under issue no. 44/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel synthesis and characterization of 1,2,4-triazole carbothioamide and carboxamide derivatives and their antiproliferative activity. More particularly, the present invention relates to a series of 3,5-diphenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazole derivatives bearing carbothioamide (T001–T006) and carboxamide (T013– T022) functionalities, synthesized from the common intermediate 3,5-diphenyl-4H-1,2,4-triazol-4-amine using substituted isothiocyanates and carboxylic acids respectively. The compounds were characterized by FT-IR, 1H NMR, and ESI-mass spectrometry, and screened for in vitro antiproliferative activity against HCT116 human colorectal cancer cells by the MTT assay, with compounds T014, T017, and T019 identified as the most active, useful as lead molecules for the development of antiproliferative anticancer agents.
