Abstract: The Non-Invasive Sleep Apnea Screening Device is an intelligent and cost-effective solution designed to monitor and analyze sleep patterns in real time without the need for complex clinical equipment. The system utilizes embedded sensors, including motion detection through the MPU6050, to capture body movement patterns associated with irregular breathing events during sleep. By processing these signals using a microcontroller-based platform, the device identifies abnormal sleep disturbances that may indicate potential apnea episodes. The system operates by continuously analyzing variations in body movement and classifying sleep conditions into states such as normal sleep, disturbed sleep, and potential apnea events. When abnormal patterns—such as sudden or excessive movement are detected, an alert mechanism is triggered using a buzzer to notify the user or caregiver. A compact OLED display provides real-time feedback, presenting clear and user-friendly information about sleep status and movement levels. This non-invasive approach eliminates the need for traditional polysomnography setups, making the device portable, affordable, and suitable for home-based preliminary screening. The system is designed for scalability, allowing future integration with wireless communication modules for remote monitoring and data logging. Potential enhancements include the incorporation of additional biosensors and machine learning algorithms to improve detection accuracy and predictive capabilities.
