Abstract: A fluorine-free chemical treatment applicable to nonwoven media to provide high hydrophobicity and glue repellency without impacting product porosity/permeability. The fluorine-free chemical treatment incudes application of a water repellent including an acrylate copolymer optionally containing silicon functionalities, and/or optionally admixed with a polyurethane resin compound. The acrylate copolymer is used in combination with a non-fluorinated hydrophobic binder including a styrene moiety. Also disclosed are non-woven media including the acrylate copolymer containing silicon functionalities, and/or admixed with a polyurethane resin compound.
