Abstract: The present invention relates to an engine mount internal bushing insert fabricated from a hybrid polycarbonate (PC) composite reinforced with carbon fibres and graphene. The material system provides exceptional vibration damping, high fatigue resistance, and a lightweight alternative to conventional rubber—metal or polyurethane inserts. The hybrid reinforcement structure significantly reduces transmission of engine-induced noise and vibrations to the vehicle chassis, enhancing ride comfort and structural longevity. The combined effects of carbon fibres and graphene improve stiffness, tensile strength, and dynamic stability while maintaining controlled elasticity required for engine mounts. The composite also delivers superior thermal resistance and long-term durability under continuous oscillatory loading. The component can be produced using injection moulding or precision moulding, ensuring precise geometries, uniform reinforcement distribution, and high-volume manufacturability. The invention provides an advanced, highly durable, and lightweight noise-damping insert for modern automotive powertrain applications.
