MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641107114 A) filed by Koneru Lakshmaiah Education Foundation on September 06, 2026, for Nifemo-Ldh Activated Carbon Electrocatalyst And Machine Learning Optimization For Hydrogen Production.

Inventors include Tammineni Vineesha; and S. Shanmugan.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a NiFeMo layered double hydroxide (NiFeMo-LDH)/activated carbon composite electrocatalyst for anion exchange membrane water electrolysis. The composite comprises a NiFeMo-LDH catalytic phase associated with a porous, electrically conductive activated carbon support to facilitate active-site accessibility, charge transfer and electrochemical water-splitting reactions. The invention further provides a controlled preparation process involving metal precursor solutions, activated carbon dispersion, alkaline co-precipitation, aging, separation, washing and drying. A Gaussian Process Regression model and Bayesian Optimization framework are employed to correlate catalyst composition and synthesis parameters with electrochemical performance and identify optimized formulations. The resulting electrocatalyst is applicable to hydrogen evolution and oxygen evolution reactions for efficient green hydrogen production.
