MUMBAI, India, July 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202631085509 A) filed by National Institute Of Technology, Patna on July 13, 2026, for Nickel And Lithium Co-Doped Magnesium Molybdate And Process For Preparation Thereof.

Inventors include Kumar, Brajesh; and Jaiswal, Shivendra Kumar.

The application for the patent was published on July 24, 2026, under issue no. 30/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a nickel and lithium co-doped magnesium molybdate composition and a process for preparation thereof. The composition, represented by the formula Mg0.80(Ni/Li)0.20MoO4, is prepared by an Aloe vera-assisted sol-gel method that facilitates uniform incorporation of nickel and lithium into the magnesium molybdate lattice. The synthesized composition exhibits a single-phase crystalline structure with retained crystallinity and structural stability, without significant phase separation. The co-doping modifies the lattice vibrations and reduces the optical band gap compared to undoped magnesium molybdate. The combination of improved structural characteristics and reduced band gap makes the composition suitable for optoelectronic applications.
