Abstract: ABSTRACT The present disclosure relates to a neck safety device for protecting wearers against laceration injuries caused by glass- coated kite string. The neck safety device (100) includes a protective sheet (102) formed from a semi-rigid synthetic polymer material, ergonomically curved to conform to the natural curvature of a wearer's neck. An adjustable synthetic fastening band (104) attaches to an upper edge (106) of the protective sheet (102) and includes a first hook-and-loop fastening surface (108) and a second hook-and- loop fastening surface (110) at opposing ends. The fastening band (104) wraps around the wearer's neck, releasably engaging the two hook-and-loop fastening surfaces to position the protective sheet (102) over the anterior neck region. The protective sheet (102) forms a physical cut-resistant barrier that intercepts directional contact force from glass-coated kite string, effectively preventing laceration injuries to the anterior neck region.
