Abstract: The present invention relates to a novel bio-derived mesoporous activated carbon-based material (ACM) designed as a dual-target therapeutic platform for the management of diabetes and cancer. The material is synthesized through controlled chemical activation followed by hightemperature calcination, resulting in a porous, crystalline carbon framework enriched with intrinsic bioactive heteroatoms. Comprehensive physicochemical characterization confirms Lhe formation of a stable mesoporous structure with favourable surface charge and functional properties. The developed carbon material exhibits significant inhibitory activity against carbohydrate-metabolizing enzymes, including a-amylase and a-glucosidase, indicating strong antidiabetic potential. Additionally, the material demonstrates pronounced antioxidant activity and effective anti-inflammatory properties through protein denaturation inhibition. In vitro anticancer evaluation reveals substantial cytotoxic activity against human breast cancer cells, along with clear induction of apoptosis. The invention provides a cost-effective, biocompatible, and multifunctional nanocarbon platform with bidirectional therapeutic potential for metabolic and oncological disorders, thereby offering a promising strategy for next-generation nanomedicine applications.
