The system comprises a Carbopol-based gel formulation incorporating 3-Methyl-3-mercapto-1-butanol as the active olfactory agent, together with Carbopol 940, propylene glycol, and pharmaceutically acceptable excipients, to produce a stable, homogeneous, and spreadable gel matrix. The formulation exploits natural sensory and olfactory mechanisms to deter leopards from human settlements, livestock enclosures, and agricultural areas, thereby minimizing territorial intrusion without causing harm to the animals. Methods for preparing and applying the formulation are disclosed, making it suitable for pharmaceutical, veterinary, cosmetic, biological, and research applications. The invention provides a cost-effective and practical solution for rural and forest-fringe communities, offering an environmentally safe and socially acceptable alternative to traditional conflict-management strategies such as traps, fencing, or poisoning.
