MUMBAI, India, Sept. 28 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611099042 A) filed by Chitkara University on August 17, 2026, for Nanoparticulate Pharmaceutical Composition Of Corosolic Acid And Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Dr. Thakur Gurjeet Singh; Shareen Singh; and Souvik Banerjee.
The application for the patent was published on September 25, 2026, under issue no. 39/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a nanoparticulate pharmaceutical composition comprising corosolic acid or a pharmaceutically acceptable form thereof encapsulated within solid lipid nanoparticles (SLNs) or biodegradable polymeric nanoparticles. The nanoformulation improves the solubility, stability, oral bioavailability, controlled release, intestinal absorption and blood-brain barrier permeation of corosolic acid. The formulation may further modulate TGR5-mediated signalling, improve intestinal barrier integrity, and attenuate oxidative stress and inflammatory responses. The invention further provides processes for preparing the nanoparticulate pharmaceutical composition and pharmaceutical dosage forms comprising the same. Reference
