Inventors include Professor Harjit Singh; and Dr Anshul Paneri.
The application for the patent was published on July 31, 2026, under issue no. 31/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT NANOFLUID ENABLED SOLAR THERMAL CONCENTRATORS The present disclosure relates to a product and method for nanofluid enabled thermal concentrators. According to an aspect, a solar thermal concentrator comprises (A) a receiver assembly comprising a transparent evacuated tube holding a nanofluid for direct solar absorption, wherein the nanofluid is a specifically synthesized suspension of nanoparticles in a base liquid; and (B) a set of compound parabolic concentrators to concentrate solar rays onto the receiver assembly. The solar thermal concentrator works on the principle of volumetric absorption of solar spectrum by the specifically synthesized suspension of nanoparticles. The nanofluid is engineered with carbon-based surface for reduced emissivity and high absorptivity, wherein nano-particles of size less than 100 nm are mixed at a concentration level of 0.10-0.30 g per liter of the base liquid. Usage of such solar thermal concentrators may reduce greenhouse gases, CO2 emissions, reduction in electricity bills and heat generation. Figure for Publication: FIG. 15
