Inventors include Rashmi Manchanda; Harjinder Kaur; Kusum Lata; and Yashika Verma.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a nanoencapsulated Celastrus paniculatus seed oil-based topical pharmaceutical composition and a method for preparing the same. The invention utilizes nanoemulsion technology to encapsulate lipophilic herbal bioactive constituents within nanosized droplets using a pharmaceutically acceptable surfactant and co-surfactant system, followed by incorporation into a semisolid topical cream base. The resulting formulation exhibits enhanced skin permeation, improved bioavailability, high encapsulation efficiency, prolonged stability, controlled drug release, and superior therapeutic efficacy. The invention further provides a scalable ultrasonication-assisted manufacturing process capable of producing physically stable pharmaceutical compositions suitable for commercial production. The nanoencapsulated topical formulation is useful for the treatment and management of neurological disorders, inflammatory conditions, dermatological diseases, wound healing, oxidative stress-related disorders, localized pain, cosmetic therapeutic applications, and other conditions requiring efficient transdermal delivery of herbal bioactive compounds. The invention provides a commercially viable, stable, and patient-compliant topical drug delivery platform with improved pharmaceutical performance compared to conventional herbal cream formulations.
