MUMBAI, India, June 30 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202441101460 A) filed by B. S. Abdur Rahman Crescent Institute Of Science & on December 20, 2024, for Nanoemulsion To Control The Dental Pathogens Enterococcus Faecalis And Streptococcus Mutans.

Inventors include Dr. S. Hemalatha; Dr. S. Ranjani; and Khalida Thanveera.

The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.

Abstract: The formulation of nanoemulsion involves the bottom-up method by utilizing the extract of Acmella oleracea, rich in bioactive compounds, to produce silver nanoparticles (AoAgNPs). The amalgamation of Mahua oil with nanoparticles was achieved by ultrasonication to enhance its antimicrobial and antibiofilm properties. Through a series of rigorous and comprehensive arrays of analytical techniques, including UV-visible spectrophotometry, Fourier-transform infrared spectroscopy (FT- IR), FESEM EDAX synthesis of silver nanoparticles was validated and confirmed.
