MUMBAI, India, Aug. 10 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202521007857 A) filed by Indian Oil Corporation Limited on January 30, 2025, for Nanocrystalline Composite Catalyst For Alkane Dehydrogenation And Process For Preparation Thereof.

Inventors include Manjunathan, Pandian; Chidambaram, Velusamy; Doosa, Hima Bindu; Karthikeyani, Arumugam Velayutham; and Pulikottil, Alex Cheru.

Abstract: The present invention discloses a composite catalyst for non-oxidative dehydrogenation of lighter alkanes, comprising: a) a catalyst support in an amount of 70-90wt.% of the composite catalyst, wherein the catalyst support comprises one or more rare-earth metal in an amount of 0.5-10 wt% of the composite catalyst, and one or more alkaline-earth metal in an amount of 0.5-10 wt% of the composite catalyst; b) a first transition metal oxide in an amount of 5-25 wt.% of the composite catalyst; and c) one or more second transition metal oxide in an amount of 1-10 wt.% of the composite catalyst. The present invention also discloses a process for preparation of the composite catalyst for non-oxidative dehydrogenation of lighter alkanes.
