Abstract: The present invention relates to a nanostructured material-based photovoltaic device for converting incident solar radiation into electrical energy. The device comprises a light-transmitting substrate, a transparent conductive electrode, a nanostructured photoactive layer, electron-selective and hole-selective transport layers, an opposing electrode, a surface modification arrangement, and a protective encapsulation layer. The photoactive layer includes nanoscale semiconductor structures having selected morphological and compositional characteristics to facilitate photon absorption and charge carrier generation. The transport layers support selective extraction of electrons and holes, while surface modification reduces defect-related recombination. The encapsulation layer provides protection against environmental degradation. The device architecture accommodates different semiconductor materials and nanostructure configurations, enabling adaptation to planar, thin-film, and flexible photovoltaic applications. The coordinated arrangement of optical, electrical, and protective components is intended to improve light utilization, charge collection, and operational stability.
