MUMBAI, India, Aug. 17 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202617084447 A) filed by Interdigital Ce Patent Holdings, Sas on July 09, 2026, for Nabac And Multi-Models Optimization.
Inventors include Galpin, Franck; Lo Bianco, Federico; Salmon-Legagneur, Charles; and Balcilar, Muhammet.
The application for the patent was published on August 14, 2026, under issue no. 33/2026.
Abstract: Systems, methods, and instrumentalities are disclosed for dynamically selecting and/or signaling a choice of syntax element distribution model. For example, syntax elements may be encoded based on a context-adaptive binary arithmetic coding (CABAC) context, an NABAC context, or an equi-probable (EP) context. A video bin may be processed according to an associated context. The associated context may identify the video bin. The associated context may comprise a plurality of model parameters that represent a result of a training strategy. The training strategy may include optimizing a cost function over the plurality of model parameters, for example to minimize a total cost of encoded bits and/or a ratio of a cost associated with a bit to a bitstream size.
