Ritu Agrawal on August 15, 2026, for Multispectral Imaging Device For Non-Destructive Analysis And Restoration Mapping Of Ancient Temple Murals And Stone Carvings.

Inventors include Dr. Somnath Dattatreya Kadam; Dr. Maroti Poma Chavan; and Ar. Ritu Agrawal.

The application for the patent was published on October 02, 2026, under issue no. 40/2026.

Abstract: Disclosed is a multispectral imaging device (100) for non-destructive analysis and restoration mapping of ancient temple murals and stone carvings. The device (100) comprises an imaging assembly (102), an illumination assembly (106) having a plurality of spectral illumination sources (108), a spectral filtering assembly (110), a positioning framework (112), a processing unit (114), and a memory unit (116). The imaging assembly (102) captures a plurality of spectral images of a target heritage surface (104) under different wavelength bands. The processing unit (114) generates spectral datasets from the captured images, identifies surface conditions including pigment variations, concealed markings, weathering regions, moisture-affected regions, biological growth regions, restoration regions, and substrate discontinuities, and generates a restoration mapping dataset corresponding to the target heritage surface (104). A composite visualization output is produced and provided to a display device (118), a storage device (120), or a remote computing system (122) for conservation analysis and documentation.
