Abstract: Abstract Disclosed is a multiresolution wavelet-based plasma diagnostic and predictive modeling system comprising at least one plasma diagnostic instrument arranged to generate a time-varying plasma signal representative of a physical plasma parameter, a signal-acquisition interface, a memory and a processor. The processor performs adaptive wavelet decomposition of the plasma signal into coefficient sets corresponding to different resolution scales and applies scale-dependent thresholding to suppress noise-dominant coefficient content while retaining transient-bearing coefficient content. A multiresolution diagnostic feature set is extracted from the retained coefficient content, and inverse reconstruction is performed to generate a noise-suppressed reconstructed plasma signal. The processor applies the multiresolution diagnostic feature set and the reconstructed plasma signal to a predictive plasma model to generate a diagnostic output representing a predicted physical condition of the plasma.
