Abstract: TITLE: MULTIPLEX BIOSENSOR SYSTEM FOR COMPREHENSIVE DETECTION AND ANALYTICAL PROFILING OF MICROBIAL BIOFILMS APPLICANT: MEENAKSHI ACADEMY OF HIGHER EDUCATION AND RESEARCH ABSTRACT The present invention discloses a multiplex biosensor-based detection system for rapid detection and severity classification of microbial biofilms. The system comprises a sample inlet port, a cartridge housing defining a sensing chamber, and a biosensor chip including multiple sensing electrodes and optical sensing regions functionalized with biomarker recognition elements for detecting extracellular polymeric substances, quorum-sensing molecules, microbial metabolites, matrix proteins, virulence factors, antimicrobial resistance biomarkers, and species-specific indicators. A signal conditioning circuit processes electrochemical, optical, impedance, or fluorescence signals and communicates processed data to a microprocessor executing machine-learning algorithms for determining biofilm burden, maturity index, infection risk, and severity classification. A severity scoring hardware register categorizes biofilms into multiple severity levels, while a display panel presents diagnostic information and a wireless transceiver enables remote data transmission. A rechargeable power supply supports portable operation, thereby providing rapid, accurate, point-of-care microbial biofilm detection and severity assessment.
