Abstract: The present invention generally relates to a multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) antenna for reducing spoof signals in global navigation satellite systems (GNSS) receivers is disclosed. The invention comprises a compact dual-layer multiband patch antenna configured into two-element and four-element MIMO arrangements with orthogonal, mirrored, flipped, and three-dimensional cubical orientations to achieve enhanced spatial and polarization diversity. The antenna operates at 1.248 GHz, 1.83 GHz, 2.5 GHz, and 3.23 GHz, covering GNSS L2, GSM, WLAN/Bluetooth, and 5G communication bands. The antenna structure includes stacked radiating patches, FR4 dielectric substrates, common and distributed ground planes, and resonant isolation structures formed by co-centric rectangular strip rings for reducing mutual coupling and improving port isolation beyond 20 dB. The invention further utilizes angle-of-arrival estimation and directional radiation characteristics to distinguish authentic satellite signals from ground-based spoofed signals, and improving GNSS signal reliability, positioning accuracy, and anti-spoofing capability in wireless communication and navigation systems.
