Inventors include Laxmi Akshay Pawar; Dr. Suhas H. Patil; and Dr. Sunita S. Dhotre.

The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multimodal artificial intelligence-based system for automated tuberculosis detection and severity classification using chest X-ray images, radiological feature analysis, and patient clinical information. The system comprises a disease detection module for classifying chest X-ray images, an explainable artificial intelligence module for generating visual explanations of diagnostic decisions, a radiological feature extraction module for identifying tuberculosis-related imaging characteristics, and a multimodal prediction module that integrates radiological and clinical features to estimate the Timika score and classify disease severity into Mild, Moderate, or Severe categories. The invention further includes automated report generation and a data management module that stores processed images, extracted features, prediction results, and associated metadata in a structured repository, thereby creating a continuously expanding labeled medical dataset. By combining explainable artificial intelligence with multimodal analysis, the invention improves diagnostic accuracy, interpretability, consistency, and clinical decision support while reducing dependence on manual radiological assessment
