Abstract: The present invention relates to a system and method for detecting a user's stress state and automatically generating a suitable intervention. It senses a user's physiological state, optionally receives an emotion signal, classifies the user's stress-related condition, and triggers or recommends an intervention when appropriate. The present invention provides a practical system that preserves physiological timing, uses physiology as the primary signal, optionally refines the result with emotion, and gates interventions to avoid poorly timed responses. It detects possible stress in near real time and generates a controlled response intended to reduce stress, stabilize the user, or avoid unnecessary disruption. In one prototype implementation, the response is a music recommendation or redirect. Therefore, the present invention solves the problem of incomplete, inaccurate, or intrusive stress detection systems.
