MUMBAI, India, Oct. 19 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611096840 A) filed by Mangalayatan University, Aligarh; Suneel Kumar; Vishwa Deep Singh; and Sanskriti on August 11, 2026, for Multimodal Neuroprotective Pharmaceutical Compositions Comprising Bovine Colostrum-Derived Bioactive Constituents And Memantine For The Prevention And Treatment Of Neurodegenerative Disorders.

Inventors include Suneel Kumar; Vishwa Deep Singh; and Sanskriti.

The application for the patent was published on October 16, 2026, under issue no. 42/2026.

Abstract: The present invention relates to a multimodal neuroprotective pharmaceutical composition comprising 5–20 mg memantine hydrochloride and 250–1000 mg standardized bovine colostrum in an oral unit dosage form. The bovine colostrum contains naturally occurring immunoglobulins, lactoferrin, growth factors and antioxidant proteins and preferably has IgG content of at least 20%, lactoferrin content of at least 2% and moisture below 5%, with low-temperature processing for preservation of bioactivity. Pharmaceutically acceptable excipients may include microcrystalline cellulose, croscarmellose sodium, colloidal silicon dioxide and magnesium stearate. The composition is intended to provide complementary neuroprotective activity directed to glutamate-mediated excitotoxicity, neuroinflammation, oxidative stress and neuronal survival. A process is also provided comprising sieving, controlled blending, low-speed incorporation of standardized colostrum, capsule filling and low-humidity packaging.
