MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611083489 A) filed by Nims University Rajasthan, Jaipur on July 07, 2026, for Multilayered Anti-Pollution Coated Cosmetic Casing.

Inventor includes Dr. Falak Bashir.

The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.

Abstract: A multi-layered nano-structured anti-pollution coated cosmetic casing and a low-temperature manufacturing method for its preparation are disclosed. The casing comprises a structural substrate (101) treated with a plasma-activated organosilane interfacial primer layer (102) and an advanced functional nano-composite top-layer (103) covalently bound via cross-linked siloxane networks. The functional top-layer (103) comprises a long-chain fluorinated alkyl silane matrix that lowers surface free energy, embedded with nitrogen-doped titanium dioxide (N-TiO2) nanoparticles and silver-chitosan antimicrobial nanoparticles. This configuration creates a multi-scale hierarchical roughness mimicking a fractal geometry, yielding a Cassie-Baxter state that repels airborne particulate matter (PM2.5 and PM10). The nitrogen doping compresses the semiconductor band gap to 2.4 eV, enabling visible-light photocatalytic mineralization of organic contaminants and fingerprints under ambient indoor lighting, while the secondary silver-chitosan particles provide contact-killing of pathogens in zero-light environments.
