Abstract: ABSTRACT OF THE INVENTION Title: Multifunctional Water-Dissolvable Solid Soap bar For Colorimetric Blood Detection In Urine And Fecal Matter Abstract: The present invention relates to a multifunctional water-dissolvable solid flush soap comprising a solid soap matrix incorporating a blood-responsive colorimetric detection system, an antimicrobial component, one or more cleansing components and a fragrance component. The detection system comprises a chromogenic component, an oxidizing component and an acidic component. In one embodiment, the chromogenic component comprises benzidine, the oxidizing component comprises .hydrogen perox.ide and the acidic; component comprises glacial acetic acid. The solid matrix is configured for progressive dissolution upon repeated water contact, thereby releasing the incorporated functional components over successive cycles. In a preferred embodiment, the solid is positioned in a flush tank and progressively dissolves during repeated filling and flushing. A particular embodiment may provide approximately 20 flush cycles depending on the dimensions and dissolution characteristics of the solid and the operating conditions of the flush tank. The released detection system produces a blue or deep-blue colour response upon contact with blood-containing material. The formulation additionally provides antimicrobial, cleansing and fragrance/refreshing functions. ;
