MUMBAI, India, Sept. 14 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202611086409 A) filed by Chandigarh University on July 15, 2026, for Multifunctional Organic–inorganic Hybrid Luminescent Nanomaterial And Method For Preparation Thereof.
Inventors include Aditya Bhatnagar; and Dr. Sanjeev Saini.
The application for the patent was published on September 11, 2026, under issue no. 37/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multifunctional organic–inorganic hybrid luminescent nanomaterial comprising a spiro-oxindole scaffold coordinated with Europium ions to form Europium-coordinated spiro-oxindole hybrid nanorods and a method for preparation thereof. The method comprises synthesizing the spiro-oxindole scaffold, dispersing the synthesized scaffold in an aqueous medium, introducing a Europium precursor under controlled reaction conditions to facilitate coordination with the scaffold, and separating the resulting hybrid nanorods. The synthesized hybrid nanorods exhibit substantially uniform morphology, enhanced luminescence, improved aqueous dispersibility, and colloidal stability. Structural and physicochemical characterization by Fourier Transform Infrared spectroscopy, Proton Nuclear Magnetic Resonance spectroscopy, Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscopy, Energy Dispersive X-ray Spectroscopy, Dynamic Light Scattering analysis, and zeta potential analysis confirms successful formation of the hybrid nanorods. The hybrid nanorods are suitable for optical sensing, fluorescence imaging, bioimaging, and antibacterial applications.
