MUMBAI, India, Aug. 31 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202621056906 A) filed by Ms. Pallavi Ishwar Mohite; and Dr. Varsha Santoshrao Phalke on May 05, 2026, for Multifunctional Microbial Composition Comprising Actinomycetes Strain Tb14 And Process And System For Treatment Of Industrial Effluents.
Inventors include Ms. Pallavi Ishwar Mohite; and Dr. Varsha Santoshrao Phalke.
The application for the patent was published on August 28, 2026, under issue no. 35/2026.
Abstract: The present invention relates to a multifunctional microbial bioremediation system comprising a biologically active actinomycetes microorganism, preferably of the genus Streptomyces, useful for degradation of azo dyes, hydrocarbons, xenobiotic compounds, and organic pollutants, while simultaneously exhibiting plant growth promoting properties. The invention provides an isolated microbial strain or formulation in free-cell, immobilized, carrier-based, or consortium form capable of treating industrial wastewater containing dyes such as trypan blue and related contaminants through enzymatic degradation pathways involving laccase, azoreductase, peroxidase, and associated enzymes. The microorganism is further capable of utilizing hydrocarbons including aromatic solvents, oils, polymeric residues, and related pollutants, thereby enabling treatment of mixed industrial waste streams and contaminated soils. The invention additionally promotes phosphate solubilization, nutrient mobilization, seed germination, and root and shoot development, thereby allowing beneficial reuse of treated water or biomass in agriculture. The system may be employed in batch, continuous, packed-bed, fluidized-bed, lagoon, or modular reactor configurations and offers an economical, sustainable, and eco-friendly alternative to conventional physicochemical treatment technologies.
