Inventor includes Nilay Sachin.
The application for the patent was published on June 26, 2026, under issue no. 26/2026.
Abstract: ABSTRACT MULTIFUNCTIONAL BIODEGRADABLE CMC CHITOSAN HYDROGEL FOR HUMIDITY CONTROL AND ANTIMICROBIAL PROTECTION IN SEALED PACKAGING ENVIRONMENTS Described herein is a multifunctional hydrogel composition for regulating a microenvironment within a sealed packaging system. The hydrogel composition comprises a polymer matrix comprising carboxymethyl cellulose and chitosan configured to form a biodegradable hydrogel network, a crosslinking system comprising citric acid and calcium chloride configured to establish a dual crosslinked structure within the polymer matrix through covalent crosslinking and ionic crosslinking interactions, a plasticizing agent comprising glycerol dispersed within the polymer matrix, and an antioxidant agent comprising ascorbic acid incorporated within the polymer matrix, wherein the multifunctional hydrogel composition is configured to absorb and retain moisture, regulate relative humidity within the sealed packaging system, inhibit microbial growth, and reduce oxidative degradation of packaged contents. FIG. 1 shall be the reference figure.
