MUMBAI, India, July 7 -- Intellectual Property India has published a patent application (202641063527 A) filed by Srm Dental College on May 20, 2026, for Multi Sensor Fusion Wearable Intraoral Device For Real-Time Predictive Oral Health Monitoring And Diagnostics.
Inventors include Shri Ram Amruta Dalai; Pragya; Shazia Fathima; Sitara Satish Nedivakat; and Priyadharsini Nataraj.
The application for the patent was published on July 03, 2026, under issue no. 27/2026.
Abstract: The present invention discloses a Smart Nano-Tooth Band for real-time, continuous monitoring of the oral environment. The device utilizes a multi-sensor fusion architecture, including thermal, biochemical (VSC), optical (turbidity), and mechanical sensors, to transition from interventional to predictive dentistry. By providing objective data on pulpal inflammation, bacterial activity, fluid suppuration, and mechanical grinding, the device allows for early detection of pathologies such as reversible pulpitis, periodontitis, and bruxism. The system is designed for miniaturization into flexible electronics and integration with teledentistry platforms for remote clinical alerts.
